Thank You for the lovely time my sister and I had running along the road today.
The smell of alcohol was floating in the air. We had gone out to buy chocolates, and the nearby mini-market we wanted to go to was closed. So we decided to go to one further away.
On our way back, she asked me why this holiday was called an 'epiphany,' and I couldn't answer her because I wasn't even sure what the word 'epiphany' meant.
She explained to me that it meant something like a eureka moment.
So I tell her that on this day, the story goes that John baptized Jesus on the Jordan River. And while He was in the river, a voice came from heaven saying, 'You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.'
And baptized with the Holy Spirit, He officially began His ministry.
''With You, I am well-pleased.' That sounds so cute,' she said.
'I think you made it sound even cuter to me,' I replied.
Since then, Christ had gone on to do many things, including inviting people to be born again in the Spirit. Thank You for this chance to start anew with You.
I'm also grateful for John, the Man who cleared the way in the wilderness, pointing to the Light.
Thank You for Your Light, and the day the Man who divided history into two epochs began His mission.
And Thank You for that epiphany, the gift which cost You dearly, and all the epiphanies which were possible among us because of the ransom You paid.
Love,

This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
